Goals and Objectives
1. To provide quality theatrical entertainment.
Objectives
- Present a balanced selection of four to five plays per season, including one children's production, all designed for the entertainment and education of the community and the growth of the company.
- Mount productions that preserve the artistic integrity and intent of the playwright and incorporate the group's creative talents both on stage and behind the scenes.
- Provide a venue for directors to work in their respective areas of expertise.
2. To provide an educational environment for members of the community interested in theater.
Objectives
- Provide workshops to teach all aspects of theater craft including: Stage management, set design, carpentry and construction, lighting design, lighting and sound operation, and costume design.
- Provide opportunities for novices to learn the various theater arts through mentor/intern arrangements and acting classes for all ages.
- Encourage youth to participate in the company's annual children's theater.
3. To provide fundraising opportunities to community-based charitable organizations.
Objectives
- Identify and work with charitable organizations in the community to use live theater and other artistic events as a fundraising platform.
- Provide a minimum of one performance each season for the benefit of an identified charity.
4. To raise issues that stimulate thoughtful debate.
Objectives
- Identify timely and important social issues that impact our community and society at large.
- Select and produce works that raise the community's awareness of such issues and engender reasoned discourse.
5. To provide a forum for the original works of playwrights and other artists.
Objectives
- Encourage playwrights to submit original works to the company.
- Hold two staged readings per season for live audiences to gather feedback for the playwrights.
- Assist playwrights in refining their manuscripts and bringing their work to the stage.
- Identify local artists and work with them to provide a forum for the presentation of original works.
